CAFC Academy

Carshalton Athletic Football Club

The Football Academy works in association with Carshalton Athletic Football Club is now in its fourth year at Stanley Park High and is a very popular and successful academy programme for boys wishing to prepare for a career in semi-professional or professional football.

Carshalton Athletic Academy is led by UEFA "A" licenced coach Ian Hazel, previously a professional footballer with Wimbledon & Bristol Rovers. Ian has also managed Carshalton Athletic, Sutton United and Tooting & Mitcham at first team level as well as coaching within Fulham & Crawley Town FC Academies.

The Academies League requires players to be coached 3 times per week by UEFA "A" & UEFA "B" licenced coaches and compete in matches once a week in addition to studying full time academic courses. Due to the time demands of the training the courses available to football academy students are limited but will include: an array of BTEC Level 2 courses or BTEC L3 Sport, AS/A2 PE, AS/A2 Biology, AS/A2 Business Studies and BTEC L3 ICT (more choices may be available dependent on option blocks).

The boys will play in the Ryman Youth League & the Conference Youth alliance leagues. Players that show higher ability and skills play in the Suburban Premier. Our aim is to develop our students and eventually play them in Carshalton Athletic 1st team or at a higher level. Last year the success of the Football Academy led to ten players progressing into the 1st team.

As well as the highest quality of coaching programmes, the Football Academy is located in a brand new state of the art building, where there are excellent facilities to support the academy including two football pitches, a floodlit astro turf pitch, a 400m all-weather running track, cricket nets, fitness suite and a sports hall.

Acceptance into the Academy is through trial and interview.
