Objectives:

The students will be creating a brand identity for a channel that will be broadcast to an audience. The channel will include a planned schedule and also branding idents.

To create pitches and experience presentation software

To be able to create work using Adobe packages

Giving and gaining advice and feedback

Evaluating their work by completing a presentation

Unit 1.1 What is Media and what is its relevance in society? The student will use examples from the Web, Music, TV, Film and Publishing world to discuss the relevance of the media industry.

Unit 1.2 Creating a Channel?

The students will look at the existing channels available and describe them and conduct research. The students will create moodboards in order to illustrate their ideas.

Unit 1.2.1

Using Adobe Photoshop Part 1. The students will go through the requirements that are required in a 3 week Photoshop training session.

Unit 1.3 Editing

The students will use the latest HD equipment to record scenes that they will use for their channel. The students will use Adobe Premiere to learn how to Edit video. The students will practice editing for 3 sessions.

Unit 1.4 Understanding what the Audience is and expects from your channel. The students will look at why and how Audience is important to their production.

Unit 1.5 Creating questionnaires and turning the data into information.

Unit 1.6 Quantitative and Qualitative information will be discussed.
