Fashion and Textiles Museum Trip

GCSE Art and Textiles students made an exciting pilgrimage to the Fashion and Textiles Museum in Bermondsey, spiritual home to the designer Zandra Rhodes. The spectacular façade of hot, Mexican colours reflected her zany and vivacious personality. The main concourse area had themed areas -  Hippy, Gothic, Romantic, Beachwear, Glamour - with outfits and accessories like an elegant and expansive shop. One of the main focuses was Anna Sui’s design through time; Anna Sui is an New York designer whose exquisitely designed feminine, detailed 1960s-inspired designs reflect pop art.  There were mini-skirts and shoulder pads, gorgeous silks and delicate lace. As well as clothes, beautiful Tiffany-style lamps and stylish make-up bottles evening were displayed.
